Flashback - Inay at 56th

*Original posting date - June 7, 2015* It's another year again to celebrate my mother's birthday. Another year of blessing and challenges, another year to add more weight though haha, getting bigger and bigger as time goes by (peace). We are born to have less of everything, my parents had elementary diploma and didn't have any white collar job of course. We were provided with what peddling could give, my father used to be a carpenter, a laborer, but these didn't become a hindrance to help the 3 of us. They did their best in order to support our college education. I and my siblings had a dream of finishing college although we know my parents had no enough financial source to support us, but still we were able to make it, with the help of each other. We are thankful, very, that despite our destitute lives, our parents allowed us to achieve our dreams, and what if they didn't? What if they just told us to work for them, I can't imagine what our lives are today if that happens.

Payback time, it's my mother's turn to make her happy, to let her feel that her and our father's effort are so worthy. That is why the 3 of us planned to give a surprise party for inay with the connivance of my sister in laws and tatay too. My mother was unaware of everything, Roxanne already bought what to cook last Sunday, I already ordered balloons and cake on Saturday, ate neneth was also informed of the videoke. All set, and so came Sunday, the day of her birthday. Roxanne and her inay, Jay and tatay and with the help of other friends and relatives, the preparation had started. This happened while I and inay with JD and Chacha were on the church attending a mass.The mass started at 830 am and finished at almost 10am. And as per the messages I received frm my husband and sister in law, the foods were not all set yet. And likewise Tita Jess and her friends were still in the meeting thus won't be able to be in our home after the mass. With this I decided to go to SM and buy something and at the same time to divert spend more time in order to finish everything. And then we went home. Right after we rode off the tricycle, a man sang a happy birthday for inay. Inay hugged me and uttered, "alam ko na naman eh sinabi ni Flor", oh em gee... tiya flor spoiled our plans, kainis! She gave inay a hint about our surprise for her, so she had an idea of it na. But still, she cried and thanked us.

This was the first time we did this. With the cooperation of all our loved ones. This is what a loving parent can bring, they are able to raise and nurture the kids whom can pay back what they had done before. Siguro hindi namin to magagawa lahat if hindi magaganda trabaho namin. Kaya buti na lang our parents are not selfish, they are also thinking of our future and our kids'. Ang daming napagod lalo na si Roxanne and Tiya annalyn, tiya ellen, tatay and my husband and Che. We owe everything to them, the celebration will not be possible without them. Ang hirap kaya ng nagmamadali noh, ilang menu din naman yung niluto nila. I deeply thank them for helping out in making inay's 56th birth celebration possible. Sila na nagpagod to cooperate and to make inay happier. Many many thanks. And to inay, thank you for raising us like this. We owe everything from you and tatay. Thank you for nurturing us with love and support. We wish you more years with healthy mind and body free from harm and with His blessings. We love you so much!

I Love Bang's Tony and Jackey

I miss my long curly hair :( I now cut it shoulder-length because my curly hair was more than a year already and it's losing the waves, so I decided to cut it short and be with my natural straight hair and to prepare for my delivery. It's very uncomfortable to have a long hair then you have a baby. When I get my hair longed again, I will surely revisit Tony and Jackey to have it permed, never mind the price, it's totally worth it! Here'S what I love with this Korean salon - originally posted last July 2015. I'm loving my permed hair, that's why I love Tony and Jackey - the Korean bangs saloon here in Manila. My hair was done on December 5 2014 at SM MoA branch. My permed hair is almost 8 months now, but it still looks great. My officemate told me me that my hair looks more beautiful now that the curl is at the lower part. My hair grows and my curl stays. Unfortunately, due to non-combing, I get dandruff, so itchy!! T&J digiperm (and I forgot what is called) costs Php8k, of course I won't go for it if it's that pricey. Every pesos and cents should be spent wisely, so I got Metrodeal promo, had it for only Php2999. It took 5 hours to get my hair permed. The Korean who did my hair has these comments. "Your hair is madami" (thick) haha "you have many bangs" (ako lang kasi gumawa). Nevertheless I loved what he did, the result is awesome. I looked different haha. Here's my pictures during the session and after I was touched by Tony and Jackey.

 

I need to twist my hair when it's still wet after taking a bath in order to get a nice curl. Thanks for the advice Mr. Korean, I am able to maintain my curls. He said divide my hair into 4 and twist, I did it before, but now I'm lazy to do the 4 so I do it just 2. Here's what I did this morning.

 

If you'd ask me if I still want to get permed by T&J, yes, I want, after I give birth ;).

My Baby Tummy of Our 2nd Baby

To prepare JD for the coming of her little sibling, we make sure that she always say love you, good night or morning and kiss my tummy. We explain her that she will soon have a sister or a brother to play with and share toys with. So by this means, we hope she won't get jealous when our 2nd baby arrives. Just to share, when I was pregnant with JD, my tummy was so little. But this time, it is bigger. I checked on my bump pictures and was shocked to see that my 16 months tummy now is equivalent to my 28 weeks tummy then.... It is so big today. Anyway, I've read that 2nd pregnancy tends to have a bigger tummy than the first because it already stretches, good reason though. This means that I will have more bilbil to shed after giving birth! Yay, hope I can shed weight that fast, to go back to my 46Kg weight hehe..... Here's my 3rd and 4th month picture... and my bumps before when I was carrying JD (photos to follow).

Viral In-Specific Conjunctivitis, What's This?

Last Saturday, June 27 2015, my husband complained the redness and slight water discharge on his left eye. We thought it is just something he got from JD. JD's right eye was teary last week but only lasted for a day. We did not drop anything to it. Because the water discharge and redness did not stop on Jay's eye, I put cotton filled with cold water on, repeated twice during the entire night.

Sabi nga sa wedding ceremony, "in sickness and in health" and so we were tested, we both are now both infected. When I woke up on Sunday June 28, my right eye was red and swelling. But eventually the swelling subsided, only redness and water discharge remain. We thought of it as sore eyes. We used the eye drop which my brother in law used, but still had no effect. I told my husband to buy tobrex (tobramycin) it was the eye drop i used when I had sore eyes before and it only took a day and it's gone.

But still no effect. We then decided to have our eye checked. And funny because there was no more available ophthalmologist who is Philcare accredited. But because I was eager to report for work coz of month end, I did not lose my hope. We went back to Makabali bldg and took a chance if we can see another ophtha. Luckily, at the building directory, I found one at room 211, Hizon. I went first leaving Jay and JD sitting at the waiting area to check if the clinic was still open. And it was! I entered and inquired. The staff hastily asked me if I already have my record and I said no, she listed me one and asked my information. While she was doing it, I asked how much is the consultation fee and she said Php800. On my mind I said, whattttt???? Ang mahal! So i told them please wait I need to go back sunduin ko kasama ko pa check up din sya. It was also my way of not availing the consultation because it's too expensive. The normal I know is Php400-Php500. But the staff didn't allow me. She told me to come inside and sit. What duh? Parang ayaw nila ako paalisin, no matter how many times I told them I will just tell my husband that the clinic is still open! The lesbian staff examined my eyes' grade, looked like an electronic Snelin chart. After that the consultation proper.

I was told to sit in another examination chair, that time it was Dr. YAP. He asked me the story behind my eye. According to him, he cannot say it is a sore eyes. There are many eye infection according to him, allergies, viral, bacterial and non specific. And my findings, a viral non-specific conjunctivitis. I am advised not to work yet until my eyes are clear. ????

I felt guilty of my absence because it was month end. And my team members were alone facing the challenging closing. But thankfully they are good performer and my absence was not really an issue!

Today July 1, I tried to report for work. I was there at 730pm. But then my colleagues noticed that I am not well yet. So I asked my manager if I can leave the office and work from home instead. I don't want to spread my infection, this is contagious.

I've researched about my case and I found out the the this infection is accompanied by colds, swelling of lymph nodes, fever, sore throat. Ahhhh I experienced all of these ????. Worse than sore eyes...

I hope we don't make hawa anyone especially our family.

So now here I am, working from home.
